Bass District Lifesaving Development Camp
2019 Camp
The Lifesaving Development Camp is a leadership development program targeted at young lifesavers, typically 16-18 years of age (inclusion of 18-25 years old participants has also been successful). The program focuses on the development of skills through exposure to numerous scenarios that are made to be as close to real life as possible. In these scenarios participants get to experience the practical importance and develop the skills of teamwork, communication and leadership during an incident.
The program delivers further lifesaving awards beyond Bronze Medallion through a program based on Experiential Learning Theory. Program participants receive high quality leadership and award training delivered in line with the SLSA Leadership Competencies Framework and SLSA Awards. |
